US Ball subscribes to the A.F.B.M.A. Industrial Ball Grades standards which are listed in this chart. Definitions of the listed custom metal ball tolerances are likewise listed below. The most common ball tolerances are listed. All the metal balls grades include many other tolerances which have not been listed. From metric to minature to large and small metal precision balls.
Allowable deviation from spherical ball form: The greatest radial distance in an y radial plane between a sphere circumscribed around the precision ball surface and any point on the industrial ball surface.
Surface roughness: The irregularities which form the surface relief but are not deviations of form or waviness.
Basic diameter tolerance: The maximum allowable deviation in any precision metal ball mean diameter from the basic diameter ordered. Metric and Standard.
